Spiced Chai Tea
A rich, warm tea spiced to perfection. You can find cardamon in South Asian markets. This recipe is also yummy served chilled.
Ingredients
6-8 cups water
1 Tbsp dried cardamon
1 Tbsp fresh ginger, chopped
1/4 tsp whole clove
1 tsp black peppercorns
1 cinnamon stick
4 tea bags (orange pekoe or peppermint)
sweetener (to taste)
soy milk (to taste)
Directions
In a medium saucepan on high heat, add water, cardamon, ginger, cloves, peppercorns, and cinnamon stick and bring to a boil. Immediately reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and add tea bags. Cover pot and let steep for 5-10 minutes. Strain out into a teapot. Add sweetener and milk to taste. Makes 2-4 servings.
